So many events, so little time. Highbrow, lowbrow – we don’t judge, you can make up your own mind. Here are a few suggestions for events in Adelaide this weekend if you’re low on ideas.

If you haven’t experienced a true Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, here’s your chance. Join the musical street party extravaganza this weekend at Nexus Arts. It kicks off with Chris Weber’s Banksia Orchestra, followed by Melbourne group Horns of Leroy (get your jazz hands ready). It will be a challenge to stay seated, which is just as well as the street parade begins with talented multi-instrumentalist Adam Page leading the Piping Shrike Street Band in their first-ever performance. Bring your own instrument and join in as they snake through West End streets. Crack on back at Nexus with NOLA classics on vinyl.
Saturday 10 February. 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Nexus Art, Lion Arts Centre, Cnr Morphett Street and North Terrace, City. Tickets $16.29 – $26.49

A Taste of Unley Road has teamed up with the Hutt Street Centre to put on an incredible community event filled with music and performances. Watch in awe of Antonio and Kate Villano’s Neil Diamond Experience, whom we recently interviewed about their journey and involvement with fundraising events. “The event will be a wonderful opportunity to relive the songs and stories of Neil Diamond as Antonio pays tribute to such a remarkable man and iconic musician,” Kate says in regards to Neil’s recent Parkinson’s diagnosis. They’ll be accompanied by the Westminster Senior Vocal Ensemble, and you’ll also be getting a taste of 1960s British pop divas by Diane Dixon.
