Adelaide is full to the brim with Spring fun this weekend. Whether you’re feeling creative, adventurous, hungry or thirsty, this weekend’s events have you covered. Plus, there’s dogs. Lots of dogs. We’re pretty excited.
1. Paws The Pressure
What better reason to visit the mall than to pat some puppers. Meet some of the Delta Society therapy dogs this Friday in Rundle Mall and go into the draw to win a free visit from the Paws the Pressure team to your office or university. Visits from these therapy dogs are said to help bring staff and peers together in a positive way, reduces stress and boost staff morale. Dogs at work? We’re all for it.

2. Sparkling September At The Highway
What if knock-off drinks could win you $1000 cash? Your Friday could be looking much more FriYAY than you thought. Every Friday this September, The Highway is giving away $1000 cash and all you have to do to be in the running is purchase a drink between 5pm and 8pm. So go on, gather your workmates, uni mates, mate’s mates – whoever is willing. There will be other drink specials and food offers on the night, too.

3. Spring Gin Fling
Spring is well and truly upon us, so dust off the picnic blanket and head to the Inglewood Inn to soak up the sun in the Hills. The Inn is hosting some of South Australia’s best gin distillers (Adelaide Hills Distillery, Ambleside Distillers, Applewood Distillery, Barossa Distilling Company and many more) as part of a special tasting event to celebrate the arrival of Spring. Spring is the ultimate time to kick-start your self-care routine, but if you’re not sure where to start, head along to this wholesome expo for some top tips and tricks. With over 100 free workshops and 30 live music and dance performances on stage from inspiring guests, it’s easy to while away the weekend here. Attend workshops and seminars on topics the likes of wealth strategies, psychic readings, reiki masters, energy healing and naturopathy.

5. Learn To Paint Vincent Van Gogh’s Famous Garden In Bloom
Indulge your creative side this Saturday afternoon with talented local artist Jen Halman. Jen will guide you step-by-step through the process of re-creating Vincent van Gogh’s famous Garden in Bloom masterpiece. No experience is necessary, and all materials are included in the price. You get to take home your own masterpiece, too.

6. Hayden James Live In Concert
Much-loved Sydney producer Hayden James plays Bonython Hall this weekend, filling the grandiose space with his lofty pop-dance tunes. For his Just Friends tour, he’s brought young Brisbane rapper Camouflage Rose and sultry disco duo Happiness Is Wealth with him. He’ll be playing some of his top tracks including ‘Just Friends’, ‘Something About You’ and ‘Just a Lover’ so you can boogie on into the night.

7. Grand Final Day With Miko & Mollie
Port Adelaide’s Miko and Mollie boutique are holding a special ladies Grand Final day, on the weekend before the grand final so you can have a girls weekend before the big footy finale. 8. Jeff Dunham – Passively Aggressive
No need to wait another four months for the Fringe to see a good comedy show. Global comedy and puppetry superstar Jeff Dunham is coming to Adelaide following an almost sell-out show in Las Vegas. Yes, he is bringing the puppets with him. The show has all his usual suspects including Achmed and Peanut but also introduces a new character – Bob, the political advisor. If you’re up for a laugh, this is just the ticket.

9. The Brunch Club At The Moseley
Looking for a new brunch spot to sip your cuppa and munch on your avo toast? Why not sit seaside and have a sus of The Brunch Club at The Moseley. 10. SANFL Macca’s League Grand Final
Just because the Crows and Port Power didn’t make this year’s AFL top 8 doesn’t mean Adelaide footy is over just yet. There is still one more chance to get down to Adelaide Oval and watch the SANFL final between Norwood Football Club and North. Get your colours on and go and support your local teams for some good ol’ fashioned sporting competition.

11. Markets On Churchill
Snagging a bargain is one of the greatest feelings on earth, we reckon’, especially when you’re surrounded by the hustle and bustle of a local weekend market. The Churchill markets have everything from food to plants, and plenty of pre-loved clothes, of course. Bring the kids along, munch some local goodies and browse ‘til your heart’s content. If you’ve been doing some spring cleaning, why not rent your own stall and sell off your pre-loved items.

12. Lost Dogs Of Adelaide Day Out
Treat your best furry friend to a day out this weekend, thanks to the community group Lost Dogs of Adelaide. Dedicated to sharing and finding all of Adelaide’s poor lost pooches through social media, the organisation is now hosting a free community event to raise awareness. There’s set to be stalls with everything from treats to collars, so you can pamper your pooch (as he so deserves). All dogs must be on a lead as this is a kid-friendly event. Meet equally dog-obsessed owners and bond over everything furry and beautiful, because let’s face it – they’re all GOOD BOYS (and girls).
