”Switzerland” is a gripping psychological drama, with splendid performances by the two actors. However, getting there is not for the faint-hearted.
Be aware that there are only two circuitous routes to access it around the construction site. The Dunstan Playhouse can now only be accessed either from the northern end of the Riverbank Footbridge on War Memorial Drive (walk across the footbridge to Dunstan Playhouse) or from the Intercontinental Hotel on North Terrace (walk north between the railway station and the hotel). Neither of these is clearly signposted.
I was not the only patron to be confused by this. In short, allow an extra 20 minutes before your usual arrival time.
It’s a pity the Festival Centre has so little concern with the welfare of its patrons, on whom its continued existence depends.
