Cats Fridays 5th Birthday Party

Cats Fridays, at Rocket Bar and Rooftop is celebrating its 5th birthday with the one and only Peter Combe and his Bellyflop in A Pizza band this weekend! Bringing back your childhood memories, you can dance and drink the night away to the classic anthems, ‘Wash your Face with Orange Juice’, ‘Newspaper Mama’ and ‘Juicy Juicy Green Grass’. There’ll be decorations galore with hundreds of helium balloons, free cake at midnight, free feline themed face painting and free basketball shootouts all night long. Let the Friday night mayhem begin.

2. Winter in the Henley Square Pavilion

Winter Wonderland

School holiday fun kicks off this Saturday with the FREE Winter Wonderland at Henley Square Pavilion. Transforming into a magical space adorned with everything winter inspired, think fairy-tale snowflakes, maple trees and giant silver lanterns, the pavilion is the place to be this holiday break. There’ll be interactive cooking classes and demonstrations by much-loved home cook Bree May, boredom breaking winter craft activities by Essential Talent and face painting by Birdy’ Face Painting and Body Art every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the July School Holidays. No need to worry about how to keep the kids entertained now!

3. Market Shed Twilight Markets

Inner city market favourite, The Market Shed on Holland Street is bringing back the Twilight Market this Saturday night. With an awesome range of food stalls, organic cocktails, local wine and craft beers, live entertainment and plenty of handmade shopping goods on offer, it’s set to be a cosy winter’s night in the shed. There’ll even be a grazing table for a little taste of everything! Grab a wine or an espresso martini and enjoy all the artisan flavours and sensations.

4. Stadium Stomp

Get your sweat on this Sunday and sign yourself up for the ultimate stair challenge – conquering 6000 stairs at the iconic Adelaide Oval. Stadium Stomp is tough and the legs will burn, but that feel good moment once you complete the course will all be worth it. Open for all fitness levels and those aged 12 years and over, you can run the course at your own pace as an individual or as part of a team. What’s more, it’s all for a good cause as you can raise funds for a charity of your choice to make every step count. Everyone you know may be escaping for a summer in Europe, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a little taste of France right here in Adelaide. Round up your family and friends (the ones who haven’t jetted off) and head to Seppeltsfield Winery for the annual French event ‘Bonjour Barossa’ this Sunday. A boutique and market-style French food, wine and cultural celebration is set to to be day full of good food, good wine and good times. There’ll be an abundance of foodie indulgences such as pastries and desserts, breads and baked goods, cured and smoked meats plus more favourites along the likes of; oysters, cheese, crepes and ice cream. This family friendly event will also be a hit with the kids thanks to face painting, bocce and Punch & Judy puppet shows. So go on, pretend you’ve been whisked away on a French adventure and head to the Barossa this weekend.

Fritz Weekend Guide

Calling all gardeners and rose enthusiasts, one of South Australia’s prolifically floral cemeteries wants Adelaide to get bloomin’ wonderful. Sharpen the secateurs and your pruning skills at Enfield Memorial Park this Monday, with a free rose pruning workshop. Run by the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority, alongside the Rose Society of South Australia, it’s for home gardeners and amateurs who want to learn the basics. The workshop will be run by Mr Woods, South Australia’s reigning Grand Champion exhibitor, and incoming President of the Rose Society of South Australia, Mr Doug Gregory – a light lunch will be offered.
