Top Seven Adelaide Weekend Events

Now that winter is well and truly here you may be thinking it’s time to hibernate but we’re here to tell you that ain’t nobody got time for that! Get out and explore with our pick of these wintery events in Adelaide this weekend. You won’t want to miss these, trust us.

Yoga Silent Nights

1. Yoga Silent Nights

Get your Zen on and let the good times flow this Friday night at Yoga Silent Nights where you can escape the cold be transported into a space of Northern Sunny Vibes and Desert Calm. Release your free spirit and attempt your best yoga poses while listening to uplifting and playful sequences with super cool wireless, glow in the dark and noise isolating headsets. Now that we think about it, we would like to get our hands on those headsets to use anytime – not just for silent yoga. There’ll be fresh Coachella inspired beats from DJ JD and Ant on electronic drums, out of this world space buns thanks to BLONDE and Juan’s Vegetarian Paella that you’ll no doubt devour in seconds. And if you’re an animal lover they’ve teamed up with RSPCA, so make sure you bring a blanket to donate to a great cause!

Winter Wonderland Glenelg

2. Winter Wonderland at Glenelg

It’s looking a little frosty down at Glenelg this week as Winter Wonderland returns to Moseley Square. Strap on your skates and glide under South Australia’s first clear domed marquee as you show off your best moves on the ice. And if you remember the good old days at Ice Arena when tobogganing was a thing, you can relive your childhood and whoosh down a 25m ice slide that’ll be there too. Opening this weekend, Winter Wonderland will be staying put until the 23rd of July and open from 10am daily with night sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings. Great for the kids and the kids at heart.

Port Adelaide v Richmond

3. Port Adelaide v Richmond

Sitting fourth on the ladder, Port Adelaide will be tested against sixth placed Richmond as it’s time to prove if they really are premiership contenders. Port have come out on top in their last two clashes but this Saturday night will be no walk in the park as both teams have some of the best defences in the competition. So who will come out on top? Better grab a ticket and get down to the ‘Portress’ to find out.

4. Adelaide Multicultural Eid Festival

Adelaide’s biggest Eid festival is back for another year celebrating Eid-ul Fitr at the showgrounds. With heaps of fun rides, multicultural foods, clothing stalls, live entertainment, jumping castles and so much more it’s set to be a great day out for the whole family. With tickets only setting you back five bucks, Sunday Funday never looked so good.

Adelaide Hills Distillery

5. Meet Your Maker – Adelaide Hills Distillery

If you’ve ever wanted to meet the distiller of your favourite spirits, beers and wines, The Griffins has introduced a brand new series where you can do exactly that. This week, get up close and personal with the Adelaide Hills Distillery crew, the makers of their world’s best gin – 78 Degrees. Enjoy three impeccable gin based drinks, a few cocktail bites and uncover the crews’ secrets (if they’ll tell you that is). Gin lovers, this one’s for you.

Get your craft on this Sunday and wander The Blackwood Memorial Hall in search of a funky handmade treasure or a tasty treat. Running for over 24 years, the Blackwood Craft Market is a local gem that’s worth a visit. From clothing and baby wear to jewellery, cards and books to even food, fruit and veg, there’s so much on offer between the 80 stalls you won’t know where to look first.

Spiceworld: The Movie

7. Spiceworld: The Movie ONE NIGHT only at The Capri

We know you’ve been waiting for the moment you could dress up as one of the Spice Girls for quite some time now and this week it’s finally happened. For the first time in 20 years, the Spice Girls’ iconic film Spiceworld is coming back to the big screen at The Capri this Friday night. Spice themed drinks, a raffle, prizes for the best Ginger, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Posh and a huge sing-a-long to your favourite tracks, this will be a night to remember hosted by Adelaide’s favourite German, Hans.
