Spring has sprung so it’s time to get out and explore the best events in Adelaide. We’ve got a fun run, a rock ‘n’ roll festival, a fort dreamland and a car show to keep you busy all weekend long.

Have you ever wanted to build a fort and forget all your worries? Now you can, thanks to Fort Dreamland coming to Victoria Square this Friday night. The square will be transformed into a magical artistic blanket fort village. Relive your childhood and enjoy a stress-free night with your friends. There’ll be live music from the likes of Emma Rowe Music, Chelsea Turner, Nina McCann, Jason Katsaras, José Pooceefoot and Dan Gaskin. Plus plenty of art, comedy, magic and author discussions. And don’t worry, there’ll be an abundance of food trucks and bars to fill your tummies and quench your thirst while you snuggle up. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Hutt Street Centre.

Victor Harbor Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival

Love a bit of rock ‘n’ roll? Then round up your friends and family and plan a trip to Victor Harbor to dance the weekend away at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Festival. The event is packed full of awesome activities taking over the town, with live rock and rockabilly music, market stalls with memorabilia and hundreds of classic cars from the 50s and 60s on display. So grab your dancing shoes and pull out your best frock for a weekend of old school fun.

Stop dreaming about that much-needed holiday escape and start planning with a little help from the Phil Hoffman Travel Expo this weekend. At the expo you can expect travel seminars running throughout the day with representatives from suppliers, cruise liners, tourism bureaus and airlines in attendance. You can ask any and all of your questions and start putting in place your travel goals. Be sure to bring along your bucket-list because now is the time to start ticking a few things off!

Spring is here and summer is on its way, so it’s time to get your fit on with the City to Bay Fun Run. Whether you’re a serious athlete, a keen runner or just want to have a bit of fun strolling the streets with your family and friends, City to Bay is open to all. You can choose to take on 3km, 6km or 12km distance and set your own goals. This annual fundraising event, for your charity of choice, is celebrating its 45th anniversary so it’s the perfect time to join in on the fun. After the race, be sure to check out Colley and Wigley Reserve for the post event entertainment. There’ll be winners’ presentations, colourful performances and Fork on the Road will be setting up camp. We think that means you can reward yourself with a delicious feast.

If you’re a car enthusiast, then this is the event for you. Get down to Bonython Park this Sunday for the All Ford Day – a static car show featuring over 330 Ford vehicles on display. You’ll get to take a peek at old models like the Model T right through to the newest Mustangs fresh from the USA. There’ll also be racing simulators and pit stop challenges plus face painting for the kids to keep the whole family entertained. This year’s theme is ‘From Past Success, a New Era is born’, with the event focusing on the future and a new era of Ford Motoring, after the closure of Ford Manufacturing last year. Don’t miss this one, and enjoy a day of nothing but car mania.

A party for kids and adults? Sounds great! Dress the kids up in their favourite superhero alter ego and head for The Highway this Sunday. Your little hero can watch the new Batman Lego movie on the big screen while you sit back and enjoy a wine (or three) with your friends. There’ll be kids’ meal specials, giveaways and the chance to meet Batman in the flesh. It’s a Sunday Funday for all.
